Aquatic Invasive Species

WRI partners with The NYSDEC Invasive Species Coordination Section to meet the objectives of the NYS Aquatic Invasive Species Management Plan (AISMP), with a focus on Central and Western New York. Many high priority aquatic invasive species infestations need to be monitored and managed to protect native habitats, water quality, and recreational opportunities. This collaborative effort seeks to increase the efficacy and investment in AIS management efforts in the Great Lakes Basin, and helps to provide management capacity, as well as research, communication, and education support to resource and invasive species managers.
